I've been hearing how alot of you out there have junkyard turbos put together....how would I start building one for a ZC in a 90 civic si....what all do I need....where can I get the Items....and in what price ranges are these setups built (put together)......THANX!

i just scored my wastegate today, it's a big *** audi adjustable external wastegate for 12$, they thought it was a EGRvalve, and they thought the Volvo Blow Off Valve that i got was the same thing. 24$ for some very useful parts. audi's also have good intercoolers if you can find one. volvos, audis, chrysler lebarons, dodge colts, and ford thunderbirds all have good turbos to use, and subarus are nice and small but have a weird 3 bolt flange. you can even piece together some decent piping from a lot of the cars. look for some talon/eclipses for injectors.

 

The t-25 is one of the best turbos for cheap it comes from 2 gen eclipses. I am having trouble finding the HF/STD manifold that I need.

 

What about electronics?.....or do you just bolt it all up and it works?....How reliable are these setups?

 

If you know What to buy, those setup can be very reliable, it's absolutly shure that if you buy a Phoked up blower your setup won't last long.
I just bought a T25 Talon blower, for the electronic, you can alway go with Hondata or AEM but that's costly, you can ask UBERTEG for his chip, it's nice and work like a charm as other said. You will need larger injector, from eclipse or aftermarket like RC one. FMU ( read VORTECH here ) I opted for the 12:1 ratio. you will need a manifold too, you can go custom but again that cost an arm, the leg will be ripped off later. If you plan on do it good it can cost around 1000 CDN $
