whats the best tranny for a b20/vtec swap? is a 2001 Si tranny good for that motor?

Any GSR/SiR/Type R transmission would be the best ideal transmission to use because of the gearing. Otherwise, any B-series transmission will bolt on and work.

depends if your built bottom to handle the revs.
depends on your revlimit.
depends on how you want to daily drive...
cause you can have 60mph @ 3500+/-rpms cruising

but the shortest will give you a faster time as traction permits.

I'm running a 92 GSR Tranny on my B20 Vtec. @ 80mph I'm right at 4900 rpm. I haven't had a problem after 6000 miles and clockin'. If you are use to your B16a tranny you'll be fine. Expect the same...

I am going to be running a Si with LSD once I get my block! I hope it should have around the same gearing as my R

i rev my stock bottom crvtec to 8200
so far, 5500 miles on the swap.
