just looking for really quiet muffler , but gives you good performance ... anyone?..

 

Mugen is an obvious answer, however it is pricey. ES oval? Never heard it but seems people like it.

 

stock with a little bigger piping...say 2 1/4

Mugen twinloop, Spoon street silencer, Apex WS, or aftermarket B pipe/cat with ITR axleback.

 

i love the stock muffler, i get how loud, my custom piping is sometimes, sucks when u drive next to cops, they hella look at u, and will pull your *** over.

 

RSR is nice and quiet. I hear my aem cai more than I hear my exhaust.

 

old school RS*R exhaust

 

Custom piping/3 foot resonator/Edelbrock RPM Series Straight Through Muffler. This is the cheapest/quietest/best performance setup there is. A lot of fast all motor cars in so cal run this setup. Good luck.

 

BTW the es muffler is loud as hell. I know because I used to work there.

 

does the itr axleback fit civics? I thought it might but was not sure.

 

My vote goes towards the RS*R or skunk2, cause skunk2 was just rebadged RS*R exhaust. Of course another good choice is the apex'i WS.

It fits with a little modification, tight, but fits.

My Fujitsubo RM01 is super quite .... dont even need silencer to pass a decible test

 

RS*R is back in the US, so these great-sounding, quiet exhausts are back in the picture.

I swear by my Mugen Twinloop, but it is pricey.

Apex WS is freakin' QUIET. Kinda tinny at higher rpms, but QUIET.

Honestly, I don't even know. They're on the other side too. It was like that when I bought it.

 

IMO the RSR exhuast (if you can find it still) will serves you quite well

I put in the stock Si exhaust in my 97 coupe, it sounds great, and quiet. the tip served my justice.
