Ok, one choice involves a 2.0L turbo motor with RWD. The other a torqueless B16 with FWD. Is it that hard of a choice?
I still love my B16 though.

It all depends on which one you want.
Well, first thing you do is grasp the laces and make "bunny ears" with them. Next step is to loop, swoop, and pull one through the other to make a "knot"...

dude, dont even think about it. A modded sr20det will walk all over a b16. you can easily jump the hp on the sr20det with a few mods. The price of a stock sr20det is almost the same price as a b16. But if you can find someone you can install an rb25det, go for it!
you will end up spending way more on the 240sx...but rwd is always more fun...
SR20det power rocks, I want to get a 510 and put one of those bad boys in it.
Are you kidding?
and to the guy asking the question
if you have to ask wich is better you dont sound like you know very much about eithre of the cars/swaps, let alone how to care for a turbo car. do it yourself and learn along the way.

Research it. A B16 will be easier to do. But a 240 will be faster.
B16 is cheaper to maitain then a SR20 but you gotta pay to play.
I'll put it another way. I've been dying to do a Sil-Eighty project but I wanted to finish my hybrid and keep it because i wanted something reliable to drive everyday.

How fast do you guys think a 240 w/sr20 is in the 1/4? I know, that's a very noob question, but I'm just curious and the search sucks.

on a bone stock S14 SR20? running stock boost levels?
probably the same as a 99+ mustang GT. mid 14s.

ive seen a 240 with the sr20det completely destroy a turbo b18c with about 2 gs into the motor. nice car, but rwd ate it for a snack
. thats what my rx7s are for

SR20DET's are rediculous in 240's.
My buddy MUST have gotten a rare gem...cause his car is rediculously fast. After spending 1700 on the car and 2000 for the swap....he stays EVEN with my other buddies bone stock 94 Supra TT 6 speed.
The 240 would punk any street driven Civic unless it's heavily modded.

All depends on which sr20 you'll be swappin in and which civic chassis you were planning on using. Despite what you all mighta heard, the 240sx won't be that much faster at first.. I just helped my friend swap in an s14 into his '95 240SX. The engine is stock (factory boost levels) but he's got his suspension and wheels already on there. Its quick even in this form, has lots of potential and hooked up real nice on the street, but I'd be surprised if it was very far into the 13s if that. Even though it made like 250+ to the crank (or something along those lines), thats a pretty heavy car compared to a 2000lb EH2.. I'll tell ya one thing though, that baby is gonna haul *** once he's done with it. Its personal preference, if there was one clear answer then we'd all be doing it that way.

S13, S14, S15? What year is the SX? Fastback or coupe? Other mods? Something doesn't add up here.

S13 hatch. FMIC, ARC BOV, 3 inch exhaust, and stock boost levels...I swear man, this thing is a monster! Unbelievably fast. C-speed's 12.8 second Integra beat it by 1 car from 0-100!

my buddy has a s14 sr20det in a 96 s240sx. It's quick but, I highly doubt it's that deap into the 13's. Actually he has 3 inch turbo back, apex fmic, hks bov, and an avcr. It's quick but it's not super fast. It "FEELS" fast b/c it of the turbo lag....every ridden in a stock dsm? It has the same feeling...
The motor has potential but who swaps an engine in and leaves it stock anyways
oh yeah forgot to add..i'd take the 240sx if its 96+ just because I love the style of the car. RWD + TURBO > FWD + Turbo. Plus the 240 feels NICER compared to a civic as far as interior and craftsmanship goes.

if youre gonna do the swap yourself get the b16 its straight forward no major problems now the 240 on the other hand is an electricians nightmare.
you see honda was smart and made plugs that came out of the chassi where as for the 240 the wire harness is one big mess it is all one from the motor to the dash so in order to get it to work you have to drop your dash and send the wire harness in to get stretched and all sorts of bs. i cant give too many details on it though cause its my buddies swap he is doing by himself. as in he wants no help or minimal help so i only hear about his problems. i think the only thing that has went well for him was he was able to sell the motor for a different dash.
