I just put in a b18c1 and am running a mugen chipped p28. I changed the spark plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. The problem is that is sounds like its misfiring because i hear a "puffin" noise coming out of the muffler like every 4-5 seconds when the car is idling. I checked the timing and everything and its fine. Also....my compression test didnt do to well.. My results were: 1. 165 2. 180 3. 180. 4. 180......Could it be bad compression?? The ECU??? or something else????

why are you running a chipped ecu....if you dont have the add-ons to be running a chipped ecu that is a problem. If you do have a reason for running a chipped ecu then the only thing that could be wrong from what i can gather is that your compression isnt where it needs to be. Get that checked into further.

 

well i found out the problem......cylinder 1's piston rings are f*#$ed

 

whew scared me when i read this cause my car makes that puff puff sound but not on idle... but when im on the hwy is does alil...i got a bad 02 sensor so i hope its that...
