Realizing my budget...i choose this route for performance...
I have been researching and learning about turbos for about 3 months now. I want turbo on my 90 ls teg so bad. But im gonna step back to reality for a second here. I make 6.50 an hour at six flags, I still owe a grand on my car, and I need some new tires. Also, to even consider boost, I will have to rebuild my engine with over 130xxx miles. So, I decided that perhaps I should go with nitrous for now, sell my car a few years down the road, and get a gsr. Now my question is really this...do I need to do internal work to be able to run a 50 shot? Also, someone tells me I should give my engine a shot in 2nd gear....3rd....4th...and 5th. I have heard that this tears the hell out of my engine. So what is the deal? Can someone just lay out to me the basics of nitrous? I know I should run a dry shot from the intake...and I should run no more than a 50 shot...but what else should I know before making the investment? Thanks...I'm wearing my flame retardant suit...so flame a way!

pay off the car.
worry about performance later.
seriously...save save save. don't worry about fixing up your current ride.

running 50 shot of nitrous depends on how healthy your engine is right now. it depends how much you keep on squeezing that bottle. from what ive seen and pass experiences, sooner or later you engine will start to wear down and the slower its gonna be. try doing a compression test to see how your pistons are and see if each cylinder #'s are good before running nitrous. but going this route, your engine will blower up with stock internal and 130k miles especially if your trigger happy. ive shot nitrous in 1st gear before by reving my car to bout 3000 rpm let go, tires spins, grips, and then hit the switch, but its safer if shot on 2nd and on....
but good luck if you plan on shooting nitrous. ALL MOTOR would be the best bet if its your daily driven car.
