Default Well, GSR continues to run like **** - latest update.

Just changed the injectors, NOTHING - Quick rundown of what's going on if you haven't read my previous posts...

My GSR went from walking my friends SVT focus by 2 cars to losing by 5, along with losing to Celica GT's from rolls and the sort - It's SLOW as hell right now, my VTEC has gotten incredibly loud and I'm pretty sure it's directly involved with what's going on..

I took the advice of many HT'rs and went ahead and did ALL MAINT, fuel filter, dist cap, rotor, plugs, spark plug wires, I even went the extra mile and changed the fuel pump and now tried different injectors and my car is still running like crap - my spark plugs are WHITE after a WOT run, so I know I'm running lean

I'm taking the car to the dyno tomorrow, and a shop on Thurs, I'm tired of dealing with it myself - What baffles me most is that if it was the actual motor I'd be like no sweat, rebuild time, lotat miles anyway - but my compression is 220 ACROSS..

You might want to check that your timing belt didnt slip. When my Timing belt slipped my engine was alot lounder, ran like crap, would run hot and the plugs were white as hell.

valve adjustment?
Point... are they tapping ?

Also, are you sure vtec is coming in where it should and not just the runners opening at 6 ?

this probably isnt the problem. but one time i had my cat gutted out and i was driving aliong and all a sudden my car lost alot of power and vtec was very loud but it wasnt going very fast

turned out that my cat got clogged when left over pieces in the cat when i gutted it.
maybe something is clogged. again, i doubt thats your problem but it may help

X2, VTEC is as clear as ever, on both xovers...

I have ALWAYS had trouble hearing it open at 4400.. Now? ROFL - I can be cruising in 5th gear, hit 4400 RPM and I wilL CLEARLY hear vtec, not loud but the change of the motors pitch is much more noticeable than it should be, it also almost feels that I let go of the gas at 4400 RPM, which I'm not doing, and it does it again at 5800.

I'm taking the car to Jared on Thursday, maybe he can find the problem - maybe my timing belt did jump because advancing the dist timing does nothing for me unless my dist is fucked up...

I hope I don't have to rebuild the motor, was ready for the 98 conversion with CW paint :~(

I'd bet that your timing belt jumped a tooth or two.

it could be a bad ground or it could be that one of cynlinders is not firing...check ur ignition system for spark..or it could be fuel pressure leak. besides that im clueless.

It's cool, I'm taking it to the shop tomorrow, figured I'd show ya guys though.. Again, I'm baffled because of my compression #'s, I know it's something in the valvetrain, I mean my peak HP is 90 and it's right before the first VTEC xover at 4400 - power climbs a bit again at 5800 then drops...

Hopefully it's limited to valvetrain, maybe it can be something silly, if something is screwed up with my valvetrain I guess it's time for the ITR valvetrain with skunk2 cams, might as well if I'm taking the head off

It could be related to the misshift from 3rd to 2nd I had MONTHS ago, but my car ran fine for awhile after, is there anything I could have damaged in a misshift that decided to finally give? I mean if it was valves my compression would be screwed wouldn't it?

i think i remember someone saying his dyno had broken lines kinda like your dyno... I believe he replaced the distributor and it fixed it.

I am willing to bet that it is related to timing. Either your timing belt jumped a few tooths, or your distributor timing is way off.
Either way, grab a timing light and check it

look at the drop-off point.

it doesn't look like you're hitting vtec.

check the vtec solenoid and surrounding areas. how much oil does the car have?

my guess is your cam gears slipped (if they're adjustable).

Your timing is probably completely off in one way or another is my guess.

Maybe timing belt slipped a tooth.

I would make sure your secondary intake manifold runners are opening up.
