$448 good price for a VIS CF hood, shipped?
thats not bad at all. i want a cf hood badly but they are so expensive to get shipped and all the dealers here are ********.
Personally I wouldn't buy it from someone with 1 sold item on Ebay. Not something that expensive. Also, how close are you to the seller just incase you have to "motivate" them to give you your $$ back if they never send it. I'd spend a lil more $$ and get a hood from a company, that way you have someone to bitch to and you'll prolly have a warranty.

Good luck finding a CF hood sold locally too, I haven't been able to find anyone in this tri-state area that sells good CF hoods. http://www.cervinis.com is the only fiberglass/CF place I know of and its in Vineland, NJ but mostly all they have is ricey hoods. They may make whatever you want though.
Yeah I hear ya on that. I like the idea of VIS hoods though, I hear nothing but good **** about them. I know on a big-time aftermarket site they will be hella expensive
I sell VIS CF hoods, new. We have a retail location in Frederick, MD. Like someone said, you might be able to find a bit lower but its a lot of money to play risky with. I can do $489.99 shipped to your door - and you'll be sure of having no need to come "motivate" us lol.

We get charged shipping whether its shipped to us or shipped to you. If we could get up to 12 people at once, that'd be a whole 'nother story. If it was just a single person picking up the hood, we could knock $20 off the price.

You should also check on http://www.groupbuycenter.com if you havent already, they always have VIS CF hoods really cheap.
i used to have a VIS CFH it turned yellow in 6 mothes. their not as great as people talk to about them IMO. i would rather go with fiberimages. VIS doesn't specialize in CFH and fiberimages does. sucks man vis is like 5 min from my house, jdmhondaparts 5 min and autodynamic.com is 1 min away.
anyways, my friend with a WRX has a fiberimages hood fits, looks great

Personally I think its alittle pricey. I manage to find a semi brand new VIS grade a carbon Fiber hood OEM style with rolled edges on thepartstrader.com for $250. When I picked it up...it was wrapped in plastic and seemed brand new to me. So look around...before you spend $500 and then find someone selling a good one for half the price.

It isnt bad. You figure most places charge $125 for shipping one hood, so its ~$325 + s/h. You can find that deal for a new hood from a bunch of places now and then. I wouldnt pay more than $250 for a used VIS hood...it has gone as low as $300 brand new.
You can really score deals when you combine hoods in an order going to the same place with some people local to you.

there are two types of VIS cf hoods
1 older: style cut edges and not a good latch
2 newer: rolled edges, better fit, strong latch

and it was the older hoods that had a slight problem with turning yellow, not the new ones.
