Default car almost stolen, but f'd in the process

so i was in class for 2 hours and come out noticing my car door was open. wtf. i run out to it and notice my whole steering column was f'd, and my whole stereo was gone. my alarm wasnt working so i went under the hood to disconnect my battery while i run to the security office. when i pop the hood i notice my alarm was completely gone. thats why they couldnt steal it. when you disconnect the alarm, it kills the battery. so the dudes just jacked everything inside. cops come, do the whole process, gettin fingerprints and all (there were some good ones) but what is that really going to do. the tow truck finally comes like 2 hours later, and say they wont tow my car because it was lowered. the tow guy said he was going to call the cops on me and have them write me a ticket for modifying my suspension. WTF. so now i have to go raise my car IN THE RAIN. and wait another 2 hours for the tow truck to come again to tow my car like 200 yards to the dealer.

They cant write you a ticket unless your headlights are 23" from the ground (not really sure if it applies where you live but this is in CA) unless your car is stupid dumped, he shouldnt have a problem towing your car...

Hopefully you will finds these haters..

the tow guy just wanted to avoid liability for scratching or damaging anything while putting your car onto his truck. he was a dick for saying he should call the cops on you. you should contact his supervisor and make a complaint.

how does insurance work? i have never had to deal with them for any reason. i have full coverage with nationwide. they said they dont have any particular place for me to bring it to get fixed, so I'm just going to bring it to the dealer. the insurance will pay for everything right?

**** that tow guy. He can't tell you that. Call up another one, get a flatbed out there. You CAN request a flatbed so they don't damage your car when towing it.

Also, call up your insurance people. Let them know what went on. They'll probably have an adjuster or someone call you back after you've taken your car to the body shop (or repair shop) to get estimated. then the adjuster will usually look @ your car and determine how much money they want to pay the body shop. If you take it to a body shop that's "selected" by your insurance company, it's usually a painless procedure that will go by very quickly. if you choose your own bodyshop, then prepare for some waiting but it'll probably get fixed too. Since you say there is no "selected bodyshop" from your insurance, I'd take it to a reputable bodyshop/mechanic shop recommended by a friend or someone on honda-tech in your neighborhood. Dealer is the last resort, but at least you'll have something to fall back on. You'll be alrite. Sucks that that had to happen to you, though.

this isnt about the tow truck guy. What you should be worried is about your car. sounds to me like those thieves stole all that stuff so they will be back and it will be easier next time

this is total bull **** going thru 4 tow trucks

i say you guys start a sting park a nice teggy in the same spot at the same time andhide in your buddys van with all of your friends hidding you see some one trying to steal the car (the chances are its the same people) bring out the louisville slugger and after a couple of hours of *** kicking, call the cops on your citizens arrest

do this a couple of times and the thieves in that area will be a really dumb to try again
