B16A3 OBD-1 Sol with Greddy 99-00 Civic Turbo Kit, Many Complications
Okay, i bought the 99-00 Civic Greddy Turbo Kit and used the FCU meant for OBD-2 on my OBD-1, i'm positive i did all the correct wiring. It ran damn good but i installed a A/F Gauge and it was pegged on Rich the whole time even at idle, i also had a terrible idle. But i was still getting about 26 mpg running it kind hard every once in a while. I figured with a V-AFC i could fix this. I installed it, and now i still have a shitty idle with the A/F Gauge bouncing all over the place. I'm getting about 13 mpg. And i've tuned it to run about the same as the FCU settings. Also i flash a check engine like if i get on it for a lil bit, and then the car idles a lil rich at about 1100. I'm completely confused. Should i swap to an OBD-2 and what all would that take. Or should i just stick the FCU back in and deal with a shitty idle. There is no honda dealer even close for me to check my engine code, so i have no idea what that is reading. PLEASE HELP.
Alright, i'm decently happy with my power except for the split second loss of power in 1st during 4k -5500 because of the extreme lean mixture. Is there anyway to fix my gas mileage though. This last run, 80 mi half tank (5g). 16mpg boosting sparingly. With the greddy FCU i could expect 130mi half tank. And could swapping to OBD-II fix some of these problems considering the FCU is made for it.
I reinstalled the FCU and now everything is back to normal except for the idle and A/F at idle. Its running lean and idling about 350-800. Anyway to fix this?
