Default faulty alternators

will a faulty alternator cause an erratic misfire? i had my alt tested and it just met the requirements (13v). now the LED on my MSD digital6 plus is sorta dim and blinking as if its barely getting power. when i rev the engine the light gets brighter and becomes solid. now that leads me to the conclusion that its not getting enough juice at idle. that leads back to the faulty/weak alternator. what else could be the problem? thanks guys

Does the same thing happen to your headlights? If not, I'd check your MSD connections first...

w3rd .

if your headlights dont dim then it should be a problem with the wiring on the msd box or the box itself. do you have an aftermarket or stock coil?
