Default Traction control

Anyone using the Z10 eng. or the Comp. eng. one?

What is the main difference between the two?

the competition engineering traction control system is more agressive
it's more suitable for drag racing
the Z10 is more suitable for the track

that's at least what I've heard so far

Default Glad you noticed a difference.

There are in fact rather large differences between our two kits. Our kit is designed to be a complete bolton kit that retains full driveability and enhances suspension and handling quality. Advantages are present for both Drag as well as road race cars.

The competition engineering kit is designed exclusively for a drag race, strip only, trailered race car that will never see a turn. The CE kit literally uses binding to lock the suspension arms from moving. While this does in fact decrease suspension movement, it is pretty much the equivalent of running a solid strut/no spring combination. There is zero suspension movement. If you decide to try to turn with this kit, not only will your tires rub the arms at 3/4 of the wheel movement, but the car's handling will be greatly diminshed as the front suspension is locked up. This is why there is the large disclaimer "Remove Radius Rods for Street use" on their website.

For more info on our kit please see the Hybrid Article which came out last friday at
Http://hybrid.honda-perf.org

the article is on the top and says "z10 radius rods"
If you have any technical questions, feel free to email me at geoff@z10eng.com or give us a call at 732-922-2309. Or else just respond to this post. I hope this helps.

These sound like suspension modifications to me, not like a true "traction control" system that monitors for tire slippage. Is that correct?

vagoITR, are these the mods you are asking about?

That is a very accurate statement. That is why we do not market it as a "traction control" system, that is just what this post has been titled.

We are actually <ugh another one of those products i shouldnt mention becuase we are so backed up with everything else> going to come out with an ignition timing retard based traction control system. It will use the input of 2 sensors, and retard timing if wheelspin is detected. ABS sensors are not required.

hey geoff...
i just ordered the radius arm kit for my dc2 from you this morning but forgot to ask if rubbing will be a problem with non-stock wheels/tires. i'm running on 16X7 215/45/16 +44/45offset. i think joeR said he was the 1st to report rubbing and he's only running 15"?

Hey Sunny --

You may have minimal rubbing with 215s. However it would have to be rubber to aluminum (radius rods that is). I have 16" rims with 205/45/16 and 42 offset and there is no rubbing at all. Also this occurs only at *full lock* and you will honeslty never hit full lock unless making a sharp u turn at very low speeds. This is not a situation you are likely to run into during any sort of race course.

As far as joe r's car goes, his is definatley the first case we have had with rubbing wheels. He was runing 15s, but i think that maybe the offset was weird or else his steering stops were out of whack. Either way none of our cars or the local cars have any rubbing issues. I think this should clear things up.

thanks for all the replies. btw this is exactly what i was talking about.

I read the article in the hybrid page before i posted this. I was hoping to get first hand info on the CE system from someone using it and then compare the two. I guess i made up my mind already.

Can you give me a number of one of your retailers/distributors in the socal area?

Thanks in advance. Btw send me an e-mail with whatever catalog you have availiable. I heard you guys are making some engine parts also.

Hey give us a call today at (732) 922-2309 or email me with a # i can reach you at.

to see some of our products, go to our ****-poor website. it will be completely revamped shortly. Unfortunately, the website does not reflect the quality of our products, and please take it's un-professional appearance with a grain of salt...

We stopped offering the backing plate and oil pump gear, as we feel the honda oiling system has too many flaws. A complete re-design of the oil pump has been finished and machining will start shortly. However this is another topic altogether...
