Is a tube frame car streetable ?
It'll save a LOAD... that's one of the key reasons for it...
* More ridgid
* FAR lighter...
And it COULD be street legal, if you went through the EXPENSIVE process of having it crash tested, etc... Then it'd ONLY be legal if it passed.
You catching on yet? Track only...

Tube framing oversimplified. Start with tubes, tape measure, bender and a mig welder. Cut, bend, weld tubes until you have something that looks vaguely car shaped (In the same way as a skeleton is human shaped). Mount motor, suspension, seat(s) and body panels to tube frame. Take to racetrack and destroy all who oppose...
It can be done so that stock suspension mounting points are retained so handling will be similar to stock, though weight will be soooooo much less that it will be quite different. Most tube framed cars will also have VERY adjustable suspension that has little in common with stock.
I'm pit crewing for a car (Fiero but tube frame based) that'll weigh in at around 2000 lbs (maybe 2100) with a 4.3L V6 putting out a minimum 450 hp. It's gonna be fun!!!
