Default "Properly " breaking in a New OR completly rebuilt VTEC motor???

Ok searching Archived topics is down right now.. so Here goes:
I am looking to install my Rebuilt motor soon. I have New pistons w/ rings and a thoroughly rebuilt engine with new valvetrain , low mileage cams, new rod/main bearings, oil/water pumps...
So far.. I am under the notion of using straight Natural (nd) 30w oil.. to begin the breakin process.. and 2nd I hear that I need to be gentle on the throtle for a period of at least ~500 miles to let the Rings set properly! Does anyone know weather more time /miles are needed for this scenereo?
>When is it ok to go to Mobil 1 synthetic?
>After my first 500 miles.. do I need to change the oil imeadiately?
>Will the rings set properly if those begining miles are driven all at once.. i.e. a long roadtrip somewhere? or can I leave my car idling in my driveway (w/ door locked) ?? will that accomplish anything?
>I am unsure of when it is considered " more than safe" to start engaging VTEC? and when Is it truly safe to run it like it was meant to be run!?

i believe the oil should be change immediately coz a newly rebuilt motor will have some metal burrs(something like that).

i don't think engaging vtec will be a great idea during break-in since you need to drive smoothly during the first 500 miles. during my break-in period, my mechanic told me to be gentle with the throttle and told me not to reach more than 4000rpm.

Use 5w-30 dyno (regular) oil. Start the motor and let it idle for awhile. Look for any leaks while it's warming up. After a few minutes, you can lightly blip the throttle a little. Let it get good and thouroughly heated (20-30 mins.). Turn the heater on to get all the air out of the cooling system. Shut it down and let it completely cool. Pop the valve cover and recheck your valvelash. Check all your fluid levels. Start it back up and let it idle for a few minutes then take it out for a drive. Keep it really low for the first few minutes while looking for some steep hills. When you find some steep hills, drive the car up them in a relatively high gear at low rpm's. You want the car to be almost lugging up the hills with the pedal to the floor. Keep it below or at 3000 rpm's. This will help seat the rings. After about 50 miles you can bring the rpm's to about 4000 for short periods (short pulls in lower gears). After about 100-200 miles, change the oil and filter. You can start slowly bringing the rpm's up over the next few hundred miles. If you have a VTEC controller, you can raise the x-over point to keep it out of VTEC while hitting some higher rpm's. Change the oil and filter again after about 1000-1500 miles and consider it broken in.

I heard some of the professional drag racers set up their 2 step and just blast the motor on a dyno to break it in or something like that. Not something I wanna try when I get my motor though

This is how i broke in my motor used honda oil filter ran it for first 200 miles under 4k putting decent load but not flooring it everywhere i would take to about 60-70 mph and decel in 5th gear all the wayto like 20 mph do that a couple times maybe w/ in the first 50 miles. Next 250 miles ran it up to like 6k on occasion. Also putting a decent load on the motor but not doing any full throttle loads next 100 miles engaged vtec and hit 8k several times changed oil took it to the track ran 13.9 after that next 500 was several trips to 8500 or better now ive got 1000k on it doesnt burn a drop of oil doesnt smoke on bit under acceleration now w/ decent fuel car runs 13.5. I dont dog the car all the time but do enjoy getting to vtec at least couple times a day.

another thing. a long road trip is bad for a fresh motor, unless:

the whole time you are varying speeds and rpm. I was told by Viren(experience builder)

Go to http://www.team-integra.net and they have 3 procedures by :

-Endyn
-Steven Sakai
-Temple of Vtec
