just a question, then why does my buddy have factory rear disc brakes on his 88 crx si?

 

those aren't factory partner, nomatter what he has told you or what he has been told the 88-89's didn't come with them factory, all you got to do tho is get the rear trailing arm off of a rear disc civic/crx/integra and you are good to go(couple more things but that's the basic idea)

 

And I can second that because I have an 88 CRX Si with every option you could get in 88 and I have drums.

 

my manual says that only 91's have rear disks

 

nah, it's 90 and 91 CRX Si w/ rear disc.
