A rock hit my lower windshield like two weeks ago and made a small crack. The crack has spread, but it's not too long yet (cold weather). I did a search and saw the cost to put in a new crx windshield, but was wondering if anyone knows the cost for a gsr windshield? I had my car insurance in md and i just called to inform them of the windshield and they changed my insurance over to ny (which covers broken windshields), but they said this accident happened before i changed the policy, so it is not covered (deductible 500)!! Also, what do i do about tint? How do they match the tint if i have to get a new windshield??? The car came with reflective tint when i bought it, so i'm not really sure what to tell them...any help would be great.

I just replaced my windshield last week on my GSR for $190.00.
I'm in cali so not sure about your area but I would look for a shop that uses OEM glass and make sure they use gloves during the install. Goodluck

If the crack is less than the length of a dollar bill, it should be covered free of charge under your comprehensive policy. If not, youll pay your deductible and it shouldnt go against your policy.

 

Thanks for the help. I called insurance and i gotta pay to have the stupid thing replaced...got have the tint matched too. Ugh.
