Default brighter headlights?

I do a lot of night driving with my '90 civic si HB, and the stock headlights seem to be too dim. I was wondering what brand of 'super whites' are the best, and also what kind of driving/fog lights some of you are using. Having the driving lights will give it a nice look, but I am more concerened with seeing better.. thanks

I have PIAA headlight bulbs and they are just a little bit brighter. Although many people don't like to add fog lights any more if you have todrive at night its the only way to go.

I just recently bought brand new headlights, took them apart, painted the housing black (i know "we can't do this to our cars" but i did, looks awesome, and i didn't paint the whole thing, I'll do a write-up on it if you guys would like) I took out the little metal "bucket/shield" and they are significantly brighter. The part of the lights i painted acts like the shield, without blocking so much of the light. I'm just using stock Phillips bulbs. If you do this, be sure not to paint the top of the housing, as that is what shines light on the road. I'm babbling on, if anyone wants pics, i'll go out and take some.

RAYBRIG offers a great bulb as well which is a tad brighter than the Silverstars, but doesn't look so blue. Great for night driving!

hey raceboy, i had APC dual beam h3 fog lights, but in the winter a snowball hit it and cracked it, and my fog lights kept blowing b-cuz of condensation.
i have Spec1 9006-9006 bulbs but they are still not bright enough for night driving and i do alot too, i have to drive with my hi-beams on as well with the fog lights.
i'm thinking of getting a hid conversion, but i'd like to learn more about the 9005 conversion. but more than likely, i'm going to get projectors, projector kits comes with h4 bulbs i believe i dont' remember, but i'm sure people on the boards can tell you.

right, they don't come with the bulbs. if you wanted to you could get some 9005 plugs and replace the low beams, but the links show how you modify the bulb to fit the stock plug.
