Look what came in the mail today
Although this probably belongs in Appearance/Cosmetic, I think its a functional upgrade.
WAYYYY back in the day, I "upgraded" to sharkeye projector headlamps. I really like the look. The stock lights are ho humm.
However, whatever SCHMUCK decided that H3 bulbs were the appropriate bulb for projector headlights should be SHOT.
Projector headlights are designed for high output lights. They put down the light below a certain line, therefore avoiding blinding oncoming cars. Crippling the system with an H3 bulb is dumb.
Enter the following:
I'm hoping this is going to help, and make my projectors the functional headlights they can be with good output.

Post pics after your done. I've never seen an HID conversion with actual projector housings. Looks good.

is it a retro fit, or did u just buy regular halogen projectors?
if u got halogen projectors, you will either have these problems or both:
1 - melt the projector from the heat
2 - scattered light like a biatch

I have the bulbs and ballasts in, but they are in "temporary positions" for testing. I don't want to drill holes until I'm sure of the ballast mountings and that I'm fully happy with the conversion before final modifications.

Thanks to you and DXhatchback. Originally, removing the .orig.jpg was making the link not work. I don't know why it quit working, or why removing the .orig.jpg is working now when it didn't at first. I hate that.

how much did it cost u?
If anybody is looking for this kind of kit/conversion I highly recommend the seller.
He goes by misterjung on Ebay motors. He sells all sorts of these HID kits, at very reasonable prices. I've been pleased so far.
Of note, he sold what I seem to identify as the ONLY advertised price on an H3 conversion kit.

First off, they are GLASS rather than some of the cheap crap I've seen. Secondly, they include a full weatherproof PLUG to the OEM harness. Thirdly, they appear to have the Integra glass projector inside the mounting.
I think these are still them:
So far, the light pattern is WONDERFUL. The bright area in front of the car is UNBELIEVABLE. They are brighter than the high beams.
I have my doubts about what you say about melting the projector. HID's run cooler than halogens, so long as the bulb clearance is the same, they should not cause any melting difficulties. Care to elaborate on what you've said?
