(Help) Oil question/car smoking
If there's like a 1/2 of a quart - 1 quart of oil over, will this make the car shake, act up and not run right, and smoke badly out the exhaust?
Because i think i might have this problem, i check the oil before starting the car and it was like 1/2-1 quart over. Not knowing this because when i changed it, it was exactly 4 quart afterwards. But Was driven like this for like 3-5 days. Just now acting up and smoking badly black/blueish smoke. But when i check the oil after its been cranked it at 4 quarts. But when checked when its just been sitting there its over the little hole. past 4 quarts.

i thought blueish smoke was rings? and i do believe running to much oil can cause problems in the motor...but as for what i dont know
if you add too much oil some will get in your exhaust manifold & exhaust itself; just make sure you've got the right amount in there now & let that stuff burn off
yep too much oil can go in the exhaust, I am trying out this stuff called Stop Smoke - it was like $3 at Autozone... supposed to stop oil burning and smoke, so far so good - but at the same time I changed to 20w50
the idea of it is supposed to lubricate the pistons rings and all the other BS, give it a try and see how it works. $3 isnt much money to waste
edit : and from my research - black smoke means your running rich, blue/white smoke is the rings
your prolly ready for a new engine like me
