Default boosted 5 weeks, 5 quarts oil gone?

I got my car back about 5 weeks ago, had a turbo kit installed.

It ran great for the last 4.5 weeks, no hitches really, ran well for what it is.

2 days ago, I hop in and start heading out. Everytime I get off the gas pedal the exhaust popped quite a bit. And at a certain point, it just started backfiring on me.

Park it where I'm at, let it cool down. Check teh oil, and it's got maybe 2 to 1.5 quarts of oil left in her. So, I get 4 more quarts of oil, add 3.5 of it, and it seems ok.

I defintely feel a loss of power, and all that good stuff associated w/ blwing the ring inlands.

I assumed I'd see a decent amount of smoke from teh exhaust if I were really burning the oil. And most of it had to have burned off in teh matter of a day maybe less. But there wasn't any smoke that I could see, and no mass leaks, or leaks period for that matter.

So besides the ring inlands being blown most likely, what else could it be? If anything different at all.

Thanks for any help.

Valve seals? Does it smoke while decelerating in gear? You might check for leaks and blowby is always an issue of a turbo honda. I'd go ahead and list your complete setup including whether your car was tuned or not also.

Um, what motor and oil pan do you have? I really hope you aren't trying to fit 5 to 5.5 quarts of oil into a 4 quart pan.

It doesn't smoke while under acceleration, that's teh weird thing. But the oil is sure as hell burning off somewhere, and not making a big scene.

Setup: BMC log mani, 14b turbo, 450cc DSM Blacktop Injectors, Walbro 255lph HP, FMIC (did it's job well), Braided stainless oil lines for the turbo. All on a b18b Tuned on Uberdata.

Like I said, for 4.5 weeks it ran exceptionally well.

check your FMIC and make sure you have no oil in there. could be the turbo seals going out?

Sorry to jump into the thread but I've been curious why my car smokes harder during decel. I know my turbo is shot, i had it off last week and oil was coming out both sides with less than 4K on it. No blowby out my valvecover. I'm getting a much debated oil restrictor to see if that helps. But what does the decel part mean? if anything

but is your pan a 4 quart pan? If so then that's unfortunate.
