i hope you have a roll bar to add to it, a 5pt vs a 4pt greatly increases your risk of getting crushed in the event of a roll over

So, are you asking a question, or what?

I didnt realise that I made a poll..

I was wondering if there has been any rumors about this type of belt? Or if anyone has them and has problems or anything..

if its a belt that has a strap that comes up over your crotch it will prevent your body from slouching down into the seat in the event of a rollover and ultimately crushing the driver

Yeah it does have the crotch belt, but its a single.. should I go the extra mile and get the double belt to spread the distance between the legs, so I dont smash my knees togather?

I dunno if im tired from being at e-town all day or what- but i dont quite understand your statement. If you have a 5-p harness your gonna stay glued to the seat in a roll over, which is actually the purpose of having a 5-point. So why would this be a bad thing? As long as you have a cage that is... So if you dont have a cage dont get a 5 point, get a 4-point instead- correct? Well in a (bad) rollover, w/o a cage- ur pretty much screwed no matter what kind of seat belt you do or dont have on.

5th belt is commonly called the submarine belt or the dick strap. It is in place because under a high load of force your body can actually go under the lap belt portion of the harness and this 5th belt prevents your body from submarining under the lap belt. It can actually save your life having the 5th point as opposed to only 4 pt belt. Some like the 6pt belts better than the 5 pt but either way you are safe with one on and having a roll cage in place (safe to a degree). Hope this helps.

the reason why the extra belt would kill you in a rollover is because if the roof crushes down to a certain point and you get pushed down you will slide closer to the floor instead of being held in place by the belt and crushed

w/o roll cage 4pt, with roll cage 5pt of course any harness on the st is pretty useless outside of *bling bling* and just wanting to feel like youre in a racecar everywhere you go, for a daily driver it would be kind of a pain in the butt

I'm using a Sabelt 4 point in my car for autocross, no rollbar as of yet or anytime soon as I don't plan on tracking my car for a year or two. Too much weight for autocross... my car is already heavy enough as it is.

And yes it is a PITA for a daily driver, I'll probably just swap my seats in and out before raceday...

wow a lot of talk going on...but no one has experience

I have an autopower 4pt rollbar with sparco competition 5 pt camlock harness.

I'm very confident using this setup. Great support even with my stock seats.

You should not use any harness without rollover protection. Thats the general rule.

If you do have rollover protection, its best to get 5 or 6 pt harness

thats pretty much what i had said dude

rollcage use a harness, without cage youre taking a risk but of course every time you drive youre taking a risk, every time you step outside you could die, every time you chop veggies for soup you could kill yourself, you could get botulism next time you eat out blah blah blah

Where are you guys mounting your lap belts to? I have a cage but can i just bolt it to the seat mounts in the floor?

the problem with a four point harness is that you can hit your head off of the roof of your car because the fith will keep you glued to the bottom of the seat not just the back. i know a guy personally who got a neck injury from this exact thing.
