Is it hard to sell a Type R?
Insurance got to David first, and mine a week later. David got his R back Tues. I get mine back Sat. TEIN's will go on Sun. All seems fine w/ David's R so I hope mine will be ok too, man I can't wait!!!
SwiftTypeR, No not selling, just asking, buuuuuuuut you never know, I may one day just go straight into my 240 and drop a SR20DET, I'm starting to get into these more and more.......Still love the R though

I think it would be pretty easy to sell a Type R as long as you are realistic in your asking price. Values and demand have gone down slightly over the past year and half as the 00 and 01 came in. I think most people who want, and can afford, an R can get one now.
I've seen people asking $22K for a 98 with average mileage and that just isn't going to happen any more.

Put mine on cars.com and sold it within a month, basically got what I wanted (asked $20,000, and got $19,500 only because the 35,000 mile service was needed, so I lowered it for him to meet that).
Guy bought it sight unseen except for the pics I put up, and no questions asked basically. And mine had been dragged pretty extensively, and was in an accident, but fully repaired, and still ran perfect.

My '97 has been for sale for a while. I think if I was in a larger import community, it would go quicker. *Most* people that have seen my R, have said my asking price is fair. A few people on the classified board seem to think its too much. I guess the market will determine. I'm not in ahurry to sell and I 'd like to find the "right buyer".
One problem i've had, is a lot of "kids" want it until they call their insurance agent. One guy emailed that his agent quoted him like $3200/year. Ouch.
I should probabl;y market it a little harder. I've only got it in the local AutoTrader.
adios,

Shane,
How much are you asking for your '97? Has it been in any accidents? Tell us more about it. I will ask around here to see if anyone is interested. '97's are truly rare now...I'm guessing that more than 1/2 are either totalled or MIA from being stolen and chopped up.

Here's an immaculate 97 that I have personally seen. The price is OBO, but this car is perfect... http://www.tegsportracing.com/carsforsale.html

I have this web page set up with some info: http://home.earthlink.net/~utech_sforce/_wsn/page2.html
No accidents, 34K miles, 15 and 30K service done, no Michigan winters, pretty much stock. oh, yea, asking $19,500.00.
Brett, that is an impressive '97.

Yeah, my car seems to be fine. Haven't had any problems yet. Would like to take it to the track again, Will to see what we can do. I'll have to borrow the springs.

Sounds like a good deal because of the rarity of the '97's.
