Clearance issues with DC JDM 4-1
I'm interested in purchasing this header and was wondering if any of you guys had any clearance/scratching problems with it. I've heard that it sits low, but want to know from your personal experience. If you guys do have any issues with it scratching, what kind of suspension setup are you using?

I am running ITR springs with ITR front shox and KONI yellows in the rear with 16" rims 225/40 (or is it 45?)
-aoib0t, who cannot wait to install his rad because his is currently cracking up

nope... the GSR fans do not fit on an ITR rad
i got a GSR fan today and now I need the rad flaps on the side. Then I can get this installed

Well, I've been stock hight since new and my DC JDM Header needs to be replaced, because I've banged the crap out of it so many times that I know my flow is resricted it has to be as caved in as it is. dips and man holes, pot holes, drive ways, and so on has destroyed it. I recomend you get it anyway, just don't shell out the extra $100 for SS because you'll most likely replace it with a new one with in a year and a half no question about that. Untill then take it easy out there or it'll be sooner than later. I must say other than the clearence issue I love this header and its price.

The way I see it the SS isn't worth the extra $100 because you'll probably replace it due to a few bottoming outs here and there way before the header cracks, if it even ever does. Not to mention the SS was just awsome looking out the box and after it was installed it turned into some awsome looking colors but eventually after about almost a year turned into the ugliest header I've ever seen. There is no bringing this thing back to it's original look no mater what you do to it. Get the ceramic! In the SS defence I've never once atempted to clean it, which is why it probably is in its current condition, and SS header is lighter than the ceramic. How much lighter is another question. When I get my new header it's most likely going to be ceramic unless I end up trying a different brand. But what do I Know?

I have to agree with this thread completly!! The SS looks good for a little while but after a year it looks like ***!! I also tried to clean it with numerous products and nothing works!! I plan on sending it out and getting it JET COATED to restore the looks and to reduce the massive heat it makes!! The only good thing about SS is the fact it flows better than Ceramic but if u are going to JET COAT it then its pintless and just save your money!!

regarding your argument of bottoming out...it is only relevant for people with lower than stock ride height
I am at stock height and ran into this problem, so even more so to those who are lowered.
I have a b16 in my 95 hatch lowered on H&R sport springs, and i hardly have clearance problems with my JDM DC 4-1 that i just put on like a week ago. Sure it hangs low but if you normally watch out for pot holes and such you should be fine.
it was done today chris
