Is the distributor makeing noise? Is it covered on the inside with brown dust? Is the shaft hard to turn?

pulled the dist. shaft isnt hard to turn but it doesnt spin freely(not sure if it should). its like you turn it and it jumps a little like its running into something inside. but its not hard to turn. ummmm. just a little light brown dust inside(not much at all). what kind of noise should i hear from it?

its a 93 ex too, with almost 200k on the odom.

Put a distributor on it. The upper bearing is crapping out.

pulled the dist off of a dx to see how it spins and it spins in the same way, but a teeny bit less harder to turn, and the dx is running fine? is it the dist? or perhaps something else?

Yah man, i'm getting somethign similair to what you're getting ...

I got a Code 4, 9, and 15 ...

I checked all the resistances for my sensors (you'll want to pull the 8 pin connector near ur distrubtor off and test every vertical set of 2 pins .. and see if the resistance is within bounds .. which is somethign between 350-700 ohms)

Anyhow, my resistances ended up being good .. heck, I even checked my ignition coils and stuff too .. and it all checked out.

Anyhow, it's sorta wierd for me too ..

now my car does 2 weird things.

When I start my car, and my check engine light isn't on .. my car idles really weirldy .. almost to the point of stalling, but then when the lgiht turns on, the car gets a smooth idle back.

The second thing is .. everyhting is normal, 'cept I can only rev to ~4000 rpms now .. my ECU has altered my timing!

I'm also in need of help, I hope that some of my input can be helpful.
