Default Control Arms?

Do all civics and integras have the heriditary problem of the bolt rusting on the control arm that holds the rear shock mounts, and having to drill them out?? i have been putting in the springs on a Si and it has been the biggest pain in the *** ever. these last 2 bolts are holding us up. we cut the shocks clean off the bastard control arms, and now that bolt is like rusted in there or something. what happened to the good ole days like my 90 ls where it would take less than 2 hours to put those things in. wtf?

well in the long run, after purchasing a drill press, and some other fine equipment. i got it done, it is now 1245am and i had started this project at 1 pm the day before. so as you can tell they suck, however, for future refefence

for all of you that have snapped the bolts, the bushings or whatever, i have developed and inexpensive way to fix these things. if you have done these, you know damn well that the stupid lil rubber surrounding on the shock mount always rips and tears. well all, i have developed the solution.

take that bastard out. rip it tear it do whatever. i have made a solid metal piece that is a direct fit to replace those stupid busings. rather than going and buying yourself a new set of control arms, get a set of these, not only are they cheaper, they are very very sturdy, strong, and stiffer than any poly bushing on the market.

i have some prototype pics. (which are now riding around in a 99Si) and i have one complete set of these at the moment. (working on limited supplies [sat 11pm]) and will have more of these if the demand is there. ill post this in the classifieds as well.

Shessh.. You bought a bunch of equipment just to press out a bushing??.. And it took you that long??... All we did was just cut in between the U Clamp and the Bushing until it went all the way through. Then press out the rubber piece with a Ball Joint Remover. After that, we took an Air Hammer and took out the outer race.. First side was a drag.. But the otherside took less than an hour and a half..
