control arms
so me and my friends were installing my new skunk2 full coilovers...we were doing the rear passenger side and all the bolts on the control arms were stuck tight so we forced the bolt out and now the control arm and the bolt is messed up...so i needa purchase a new control arm...anybody else have thsee problem or know why the bolt was stuck tight...
torch the bushing and punch it out. its common that the lca bolts break especially when they haven't been touched for a long time. you'll need new bushings, nut, and bolt. or buy completely new lca,
mine did the same exact thing, basically impossible to get off, the front was fine tho. anyway, i eventually ended up prying it off, but ended up messing the strut up in the process, i just ordered new struts
exactly...we torched it and basically the bushings fukked up and my friend told me its better to just get new rear lower control arms...any suggestion of a good place to get it that has it in stock...i need it asap
I went thru the exact same thing recently, but I was prepared with new bolts and ES bushings. The red bushings look real nice in the stock arms, and if you buy aftermarket arms, make sure their bushings can be replaced if need be. Also make sure you have provisions to install the swaybar, sometimes you need extended endlinks.
I used a cheap propane torch $16 and a hacksaw $4 to remove the stock bushing, and a $23 arbor press from JCWhitney to install the new bushings. I should open a shop replacing suspension bushings cause I have seen shops charge as much as $500 for a complete job.

yeah hondas tend to do that.. its the stupid design with a big end and a small end... anyways just to let u guys know the easiest way to get it out is to yes.. torch and hammer it out. FYI if you guys didnt need to change the shocks and just wanted to lower u dont have to unbolt the shock from the lower control arm.. u can just unbolt the actual lca with the shock still on it, the bolts for the lca's are usually not seized and they dont usually break, u can still remove the stock springs and put in lowering springs or coilovers.. just to let u guys know...
