obd2 swap questions
I'm going to be helping a friend swap the motor from his totalled gsr into an ls. His gsr is obd2 and the ls is obd1. Is it possible to take the ecu harness that goes through the firewall out of the 0bd2 gsr and put it in the ls?
I have heard of people doing full OBDII conversions such as the one you are describing. If you do it this way i would assume you will need the ODBII catalytic converter also.
Why not run an OBDI>OBDII jumper harness or just use an OBDI P72 / chipped P28?

Well since we have the car already, I was trying to figure out a way to use what we have. We have a complete LS with motor and a complete (totalled) GSR with motor. LS is obd1, GSR is obd2. I can take anything off of the gsr and put it on the ls, since the gsr is gong to get scrapped anyway.
When I dropped my 94 Ls motor(complete) into my 97 civic, I couldn't use my Ls harness. I used my civic harness, all i did was switched connectors with the LS, so that it will fit the distributor, fuel injectors and the alternator. I wanted to stay obdI. I also needed to get the OBDII to OBDI conversion kit. I don't know if this helps, but just to let you know thats what I had to do to get my car running.
