Anyone install the JDM rear upper control arms?
I'm looking for info on the JDM rear upper control arms. If you have installed them, did you notice a difference? At least one that was worth it? Did you do the install yourself or have someone else do it? If you had a shop do it how much did they charge? Thanks
I'd like know also, as I have access to a brand new pair. Other than the JDM'ness is there any advantage to switching to them?
yoshi - who thanks trouble for reminding me about these

Are you talking about substituting the stamped (usdm) piece with the JDM tubular one?

Yes the JDM tubular ones, and they are much cheaper around $100, and if it's a DIY job that's not too difficult, and it yeilds a noticable difference, then why not?
I know the USDM are stamped and the JDM tubular. But otherwise, what's the big difference? For ~$100, if there is any difference, I'd like to know.
However, for autox, I don't need any more camber in the rear IMO since I am on coilovers.

I replaced them for the same reason as mentioned above. Stamped steel may have a tendancy to flex. Plus its JDM ..... JDM is God's work.

I had an issue with the rear driverside tire always being out of alignment.
toe-ed in just alittle but within spec. The dealer and tire joint couldn't do much because it was set to its maximum postion.
After putting in my Teins and JDM Rear upper control arms, it fixed that problem.
TO answer your question, I don't think you need to get an alignment done but its always good to do it if you are messing with anything thats suspension related.
I did because I had the suspension put in.

Yoshi,
I had a set laying when you were over. I forgot to show you. It's stiffer and more rugged in construction compared to the USDM ones. Eddy and picked them up for me when he was in Japan.

The ideal of this rear upper arm off from the 98spec JDM ITR is to change the camber for the rear suspension. It is because Honda notice the 96 spec ITR oversteers little too much during high speed turn and the RUA(Rear Upper Arm) will give a little more camber at the back to make the ITR to have better control and stability during high speed turn.
During low speed turn you might notice too much of a difference but during higher speed you will definitely notice a difference.

I wanted a set... but if they are going to give me more(I believe that is what you were saying) camber in the rear of the car, I don't want them...
I forgot more about hondas then you will ever know....

i too thought that was too much to pay for adj. upper c/arms. i bought the j's racing adj. rear c/arms for less than $200. it is basically the same as the king motorsports mugen style ones, but it has rubber cushioned end, unlike the solid bearing type. check out http://www.racingcraft.com for more info.
