Burning oil motor smoking???
Ok. My B18c1 was rebuilt by the prev owner who put in ctr pistons and I know the head was rebuilt but with all stock parts. The motors smokes when you get on it bad. I did a compression test and it was 240 across the board (kinda low for ctr pistons isn't it???). I don't think it is the rigs since compression is good. Also it doesn't smoke @ idle but pours out the exhaust while driving. I think it might be the valve seals.
What does everyone think????

I have a similar situation. My '92 lude has 124k miles, when the car is idling it doesnt smoke, when i step on the gas or if at a traffic light and take off it does. It defenitly smels like oil, and it burns about 1 quart every 2k miles. How can I tell whether it is rings that it needs or valve seals? i thought if it was valve seals it would only do that when you first start ip up and not once it is hot.
It's deff oil. I have to add it every so often. It is getting worst though. If the compression is the same across the board can it still be the oil control rings are bad are will the compression be really off and low on @ least some of the cylinders.
