Default Header heat sheild?

I know most people add aftermarket headers, and remove the heat sheild. good or bad? does it make a difference? I replaced my radiator with a bigger one from a gsr to go with the motor, but was just wondering if its a big diffrernce with cooling and what not. just a question.

Removing the heat shield will not cause a problem.... the only reason i think it was meant for was to protect you from direct contact, but other then that i think it keeps the engine bay about 5% cooler TOPS. If you want to keep your engine bay cooler get Thermal Wrap. It runs for about $30 and will keep you engine bay cooler.
