Default Racing Pedals- Which are recommended?

hey all....

Had a little scare today picking up my ITR- they didn't transfer the plates from my Civic in time- but everything worked out well and I've been driving it all afternoon. I must say- I love it. Anyway...just out of curiousity- I want to buy pedals for my car but I wanted to know if anyone has any particular preferences?

Also- with the immobilizer system- is it still possible to steal the car w/o towing it?

I will try to get a few snap shots of mine this weekend.

The Access pedal covers are a bit different than the RX covers that Boba posted.

Wayne, how did you mount your momo pedals??? I tryed mounting mine in my civic before I got rid of it and couldn't get them to work because of the way Honda runs the brace behind the pedal now I want to mount them on my Type R but I want to make sure I get them perfect the first time. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated

What characteristics make a pedal a good racing pedal? I would think grip, and thus wouldn't shiny, polished pedals be not as good because they would be slippery? Also, wouldn't you want the gas and brake close together to make heel-toe easier?

How about the Razo's; anyone use them anymore. I had them on my Lude and they were pretty good.

The Mugen pedals are loverly.

They fit on without any hassle (and fit perfectly) and I find the texturized brake and clutch to be very user friendly, while the polished gas pedal lets you slide your foot around which is great for heal/toe type of activities.

They also look darn cool, and cost a lot of money.

when it gets wet be prepared to have your foot do the slip and slide on metal pedals.

I'm using the Sparco pedals and love them. The gas and break pedals are brought closer together for easier heel-toe action. The only problem I've encountered is when it rains and my foot wants to try and slip off of the clutch pedal, but you learn to deal with it pretty quickly. They do come with little rubber inserts for the holes in the pedals, but it is optional whether you want to use them or not (I do).

Oh yeah, the install was a PITA too since they require drilling into the stock locations. So, other than that I love them. I'll get a pic up later.

Peace.

Yeah...that's another thing I've noticed as I was searching for good ones to buy. Do the clip-on pedals slip at all? Or should I get the Momo ones that require drilling? Also, do the access ones slip? they look all metalic and stuff so i dunno. How's the mugen accelerator? it's pretty smooth looking.

Very nice, too bad the Mugens don't have that additional footrest piece. Either way, I like the closeness of the brake and gas pedals, that certainly is much closer than my Mugens. It'd be great for heal/toeing, IMO. I guess if I decide to replace the Mugens, this is what I will get.

OMP makes various pedals:

and accessory foot rests:

and co-driver foot rests:

and even aluminum "floor mats"

The OMP pedals incorporate a shield on the brake pedal's right side to prevent your foot from getting caught under the brake pedal during high G manoevers......

Phat R- who thinks OMPs **** is tite.

I got the Momo 80 dollar pedals. I wouldnt reccomend them. The rubber is a bit loose around the edges after a few months of hard use. I would tell you to get the Mugens. It needs to have a rough surface. You could just glue some sandpaper to your de-rubbered pedals, and that should work good too
