I have gotten so far and i am stuck trying to take off the factory tape deck. I took evetyhting else off but i cant get to the acutal tape deck but the cup holder and everything else is out. What to do next? Thanks!

I do believe there are one or two screws on the very back of the unit that are a bitch to get too

if you've got everythign out (center console, ashtray etc) you should be able to lie in an uncomfortable position and see two bolt/screws (they're like 6mm bolts with phillips grooves so either/or), loosen those a bit and it'll slide out easily. Don't forget to unplug the antenna and the wiring harness as it comes out.

if ur putting a new deck in the car you have to bust out some jimmy rigging to make the din below the stereo stable and not jiggle... otherwise it kinda jiggle and gets annoying or u can use a spacer but the spacers are ugly. we ended up jimiy rigging the bottom din with some post it notes or a rubber drill bit holder but none the less the bottom din does not mover even when u stick you hand in there.

 

If you contort your body the right way, you should be able to just lay down on the passenger side and look under the console towards the back of the radio. You should see two screws that are holding the radio in. Once you get those off, you could probably remove the radio without even pulling all that stuff off.

I believe if you read a Helms manual, it will tell you to remove the armrest, and entire center console and ashtray, etc etc just to get it out.
