Failed my Warrant Of Fitness

I took my car in for it's WOF, which it failed, due to:
Too much play in left door (I have to replace the pin in the hinge)
Too much play in left inner tie rod.
Just wondering, can I fix the tie rod, by tightening the bolt, or is it some other problem?

you have to just change it nothing else you can do ... damn i thought cali was bad i think i would rather live with our smog checks then other states inspections

I'll replace the right inner tie rod too, since it had some minor play.
The worst thing is, I'll have to reset the toe, and I hate doing that.
I'll take a wild guess and say it is some sort of inspection that decides if your car is road worthy or not. I've heard Europe has some pretty tight restrictions too.

Oh, sorry, I'm from NZ and we have a 6 monthly WOF check.
You can have a look at the scan of my WOF check.
I failed my headlights too, since they were frosted, but the manager of the workshop let it go.
