it is a detuned zc motor, it will fit. but why would you want to do this. that motor sucks. sell that old teg. my friend has one of those and he even knows that the motor is a TURD

you can do the swap, but you need to use your existing motor mounts, however, i don't reccomend the swap for the 5-8 hp it will give you. do the ZC swap its actually easier, and use the teg ecu

it will not bolt in with the teg mounts, you will need to use the mounts from the civic

Good luck, the motor mount locations are different...you won't get it to fit. I put a D16A1 block and a ZC next to each other in my garage and guess what, the only difference was in the mount holes...there is one that is needed for the drivers side mount in the crx that isn't there on the 1g teg motor...it's not going to fit, don't waste your time. If you want something to put it in, it will fit in an 85-87 CRX, and be really fun to drive...that's what I have in my 86 Si.

Tell you what for the looks is cool, for performance, ah..., better stick with the D16A. First the D16A has way more aftermarket crap. Personal opinion I would sell it and save for a B16A from a Del Sol, now that's cool for about $1500 to $2000. My CRX has B16A ***** and its fast, I never race, it has nothing but outside mods and I keep up with Camaros and Mustangs.

P.S. The ZC engine is way too heavy compared with the gain on power.

89 D16A is harder to put in a 1g rex vs. an 86-87 D16A. Wiring is different. 86-87= bolt in 88-89=mod to fit (with wiring, you actually could swap over all the electrical from an early teg though)..Hmm.....Bet a B16A easier, cheaper, more power. Nuff said.
