Default JDM climate control install

I'm sorry I have to post this question, but as we all know, archive searching is disabled so....

What all is involved in installing the JDM climate controls into an 88 HF? Do all the voltages and plugs match up? Or is there modification neccacary?

Thanks

I know you need the servos that control everything...

You will need absolutely everything, including the heater, most of the controls are electric, and as far as i know they are totally diff than the us ones. You'll need the main heater assembly, blower and just about every single piping for the vents, remember right hand drive cars have the blower on the left side, short of converting your car to right hand I see no way of doing it, Im sure you could ghetto rig something and somewhat ghetto rig some vents, but it would hardly be functional.

You can take the back part of the USDM control and swap them with the JDM. Then the buttons on the JDM will work like the USDM. Then the only thing you need is a way to swap the vents around. Take the switch off the USDM and mount it in a stealth location and use it to switch from cool to hot. I have this set up in my CRX and it works great, the spot where the A/C swith goes will have to have the AC button inserted.
This is great rather than spending $$$$ on usdm contols that break all the time. and yo! its JDM

is it worth it? I mean, is your USDM controls broken? Do they cool/heat slower than JDM controls?

the work involved far outweighs the benefit.

It's like trying to make a CRX AWD.

He was just asking a question, some people want cars that have a little bit track, a little bit street, show etc.......

With the crap climate control that comes on USDM that cracks all the time why not put the jdm in there, it isn't that much work, no more than changing out a cluster or the like. and 50 bucks is better than trying to find a USDM at a junkyard...(very scarce around my parts) or buying one on ebay ( 100 bucks for ones without cracks) Not everyone with a CRX wants a pure track car.

my main bitch was.. this guy made this post, trying to get help on swaping this cluster.. regaurdless of the reason.. cracks, style.. whatnot.. i dont' think he was looking forward to getting advise on why its a bad idea? or why JDM is over rated.. just help him, or move on to the next post.. lol

i have a 89 Si.. front end conversion, airbox, vin tags, EF8/9 funtional cluster, and a ITR stearing wheel.. waste of money? i guess soo.. but my fully built B16 ran 12.3 a month ago.. dynoed 324 at 8500 RPM.. im doing pretty good under the hood.. might as well spruce up the outside..

Maybe you missed his signature?

Only reason I brought it up.

Why hate guys with altezzas when you're doing the same thing, wasting money on pointless ugly useless mods.

I could careless for the 'JDM trend' or altezzas or big wings.

/devil's advocate.

actually, they are broken, in several pieces as a matter of fact, the only thing I can get to work on them is defrost.

Well that's been done too.

And FYI I have the JDM climate controls and they work.

Did you switch the backs around like 88crxvtec said or did you wire them up a different way? To the best of my knowledge the plugs are not the same between the two, but I'm not sure if they can be re-pinned into connectors that fit.

No, it is the full climate control. When I got mine it came with all the wiring, control box, servos and everything. I now have everything working (fan, vents, illumination, etc) except the actual temperature control piece itself, but I am working on that.
