Default All you "h22 eg's" are your shift linkage tight.....

i mean , i run my cable under the steering rack and its tight as hell, even putting the links on the shift assembly is hard , its not long enuff.
or is there another route to run your linkage to your shift assembly. Theres NO slack whatsoever , i have a hard time shifting , at time its grinds, then at time its hard to get in gear. will it cause it to do this? or is it my tranny is bad?

I ran mine OVER my steering linkage.

I bent the stock bracket cable bracket holder, and made a cut in it, and then bolted it to the subframe.

EDIT:

I really think you should run it over the subframe/steering rack. I don't know how in the world you'd have enough slack to run it underneath!

hot_eg : How you run it OVER the steering rack, i looked and theres no space to fit the cable lines between the subframe and rack, probably a 1/4 inch , but not enough to side the 2 medal head part that connects to the shifter through them.

Can someone please catch a pic of it !!!!

I ran mine UNDER the steering rack and have 'em very tight. No problems shifting at all, infact never grinded a gear.

they'll fit perfectly between the top side of the steering rack, and the firewall.

There's like a 2" opening...it takes some work to get them between it, but it fits nicely.

There should be a metal bracket attached to the stock cables....if you take it off, twist it around, cut it some, and then bend it a little...you can make a fabricate a nice bracket that will hold the cables perfectly in place on the top of the subframe...drill it right in.

If you want some pics of my setup, i'll get my friends digicam and show you since I don't have my engine in yet and you can see it really good.

I am an over the rack person.. It was a hella tight fit but the cables are nice
and snug and I definately have no shifting problems.. Matter fact it shifts even smoother because I think the cables are arched up a lil more..

Just to clear up how I did mine...

I didn't run it between the subframe and the steering rack....there's not NEARLY enough room there.

I ran it OVER the subframe, and under the firewall.....there's like a good 4" there. I bolted the custom bent bracket to the top of the subframe, and it puts the cables at a nice slim angle. It would seem to me going under the subframe and the steering rack and then coming almost straight up would almost kink the cables?

I couldn't get my friends digi cam tonight, but I'll get some pics up tomorrow afternoon after I get my film scanned in if anybody wants to see.

Here's another issue. My shift linkage broke in my H22A 92-95 Honda Civic. I purchase a shift linkage used and it was literally 4 inches shorter than my old one, and there is no way I can make it reach.

Are there linkages that are longer? If so, what year and make vehicle?

Go over the rack, thats how mine is. I couldnt even hook up the cables to the shifter cradle when i went under the rack. Over= butter How did you locate the position for the shifter cradle in your car? If its to far back the cables wont reach and thus cause a problem while tring to hook them up.

That's not the problem. I BROKE my one of my old cables. I got another one, and it was too short. If I put it side by side, my original cable is longer than the new one by more than a few inches.

So what I need to know is what's the longest shift linkage? My swap is different than you're typical HASport H22A (or Avid, HCP, etc.). It's custom motor mounts, WELDED in. It has 4 motor mounts. Engine sits differenty.

So what I need is the longest shift linkage.

90-93 Accord, 94-97 Accord, 92-96 Prelude... the part numbers are all different. Which one is the longest?
