any supercharged gsr's out there?
I am think that i need power and wondering about going with a jackson supercharger. It is my daily driver and it also has to be able to pass a smog. i think that a s/c would give me some good gains. anyone have one? do you like it?
I've got a jrsc and I love it. It delivers good power, and gives you something most other honda's don't have....a decent bottom end.
I used to live in Portland. How strict is your smog up there now? I don't think it's as strict as down here in SoCal. I bought my GSR from Dick Hannah Acura in East Portland. I supercharged it here in Cali. You should be able to pass with the basic bolt ons. The supercharger is very reliable. My GSR is a daily driver so I know about the need for reliability. Install and then maintenance is critical. Who would you have install that for you up there? Gains are pretty good, also depending what else you have on your car. My dyno in 2001 made 221 whp.
my bro got his 01 gsr that i drive now at hannah, and my dad bought his RL there too. When did you move, they remodeled and it is sweet now! Nicest inside/out in town now if you ask me. Smog is shitty here. My turboed si (2000 si, greddy kit, no intercooler) never passed. It passed visual no problem but obd2 cars cannot throw cel codes and mine was throwing about 10! JRSC should not have problems though, and I wanna get one for the gsr. how do you like the sc on the gsr?
How was your turbo on the SI? I thought Greddy is smog legal now? I moved here to SOCAl in 98. I remember Hannah was a very good shop. Their service seemed very professional, honest, and caring. Ron Tonkin Acura in Beaverton was shady! I bought a 1994 Integra RS from them in 1993. At that time I was seeing new employees every time I get my car serviced there. One time they wanted to sell me a used 95 GSR "demo" car for a "new" price, yeah right!!!
I think they're better now...I hope! Anywayz, I like the SC a lot!!...I must admit...I was having a tuff time passing smog earlier this year. The hydrocarbons (HC)were too high. I just put my stock header back on and dumped some octane booster in the tank(at 1/4 tank of gas) and passed! I will remember this trick next time.

I was also wondering if it moves the place ment of the throtle body because i have the gsr intake and i know the one on the si moves a slight bit up.
at least you passed right?
the kit is smog legal, and like i said visual was no problem, but the blue box ecu is shitty, and threw random *** codes. yeah they are real nice professional people at hannah.

I don't think it moves that much. I still have my AEM CAI attached to the
throttle body and the rest of the AEM fits ok in the engine.

the TB should be slightly lower. Some aftermarket intakes may not clear the AC lines, the AEM both short ram and CAI fit with little or no modifications depending on how you want it to look.
I don't have one, but I've meet at least two people with them, and they really liked the Jackson. It's supposed to be great for autoX or daily driving.
JSRC is a good way to go
i have one but never installed it. I bought it from an ITR owner I know. It has the ITR intake Manifold but I know where to get the GSR Manifold for a good price.

With an H22 swapped into a Gen3 teg, would it be possible to a mount in a SRSC? I know its a tight fit as it is, but would the blower fit in there? that would make a pretty quick car.
I've heard that a JRSC won't fit on a hybrid H22 teg, firewall issues...not easy to fix...
