My R has been stolen.
It occured sometime this morning here in Toronto (Downsview).
I suspect it was professional and that my car was targetted.
I had an alarm, and a club.
Fockin lowlifes, I could deal with losing anything else...

She's CW, mildly tinted, lowered, and has Comptech exhaust out the back.

Invest in a Boomerang system next time. It's available in the Toronto area, and they will be able to recover the car using GPS.

See if the parking lot has any surveillance cameras. Ask the attendant if any tow truck companies service that lot. Call the tow truck companies and see if they picked up your car. Also ask to see who was working the lot (if anyone) during the period of time your car was jacked.

Most of the car theft rings in the Toronto area are biker-gang related. We're talking very well organized - i.e. Angels. If you have any "connections" with them you may be able to poke around and find out where your car is, or even get it back - - for a price.

Man I feel your pain, my ITR was stolen a couple months ago. Easily one of the most horrible things that have happened to me. You never really think it could happen to you until it does. Good luck on getting the car back.

 

That sucks...they just towed the car away...what can you do? Don't fret over it. Just think of all the new cars coming out that you'd rather have!

The car was not towed by a legit organization, although I think that the job was probably donw with a truck.
I know that car theft is quite prevailant and organized in TO, but I have nobody to make inquiries - I'm on the level.

Dude, the downsview area has quite a few body shops, however, there are a few in the Finch/Sheppard area that are quite notorious. Chances are, it's headed to a chop shop in that area....do a quick drive by of that area, the industrail park....in a non-flashy car...see what you find.

Chances are the cops won't help you much.

Yea I had Lo-jack, it did not work very well as you can tell. I thought I was gonna get that 1500 warrantee thing because the car was never recovered but they didn't tell me when I had the unit checked out a few months before it was stolen that you need to get an extended warrantee to get any money since the LoJack was over a year old. Aww well, bottom line LoJack sucks.

LoJack may suck - but the Mobile Mayday system by Alpine works very well. I highly recommend it for anyone who is paranoid about losing their investment.

My '01 silver GSR was stolen right in front of my driveway about 2 weeks ago. I am still pissed...No car has been recovered yet and you know what ....I DON'T WANT IT BACK EVEN IF THEY DO!!
I found myself another 2001 silver GSR and put a HOLD on it...Its the only one left in the whole province. I lucked out.

Just waiting for my insurance to get off their asses and settle with me already.
but it's true though, you never think about the worse until it actually happens and then you prepare yourself from having it happening again.

Sorry for the loss, but don't get too bummed out. There are some AWESOME cars in showroom floors. The WRX and the S2000 are just two examples. That's not including all the great cars that you can get used that would be just as nice as the R...M3, C5, Supra, etc.
