whats my engine
I have a 91 si hb. yesterday I took it to get inspected. I was looking over the papers and noticed that it said I have a d15b1.
I have always thought I have a d16a1. how can I find out for sure which engine I have? Are there any obvious parts or something to indicate which engine it is?

it should be a d16a6, and there should be a marking on the engine that says this ... it's on a little silver piece that would read "D16A6" "D15B2"... I beleive it's on the right side of the engine

if it is an Si, it should be a d16a6. It could be a d15b2 if it were a dx. D16A1 is a DOHC engine, right? it could have been swaped, I suppose.
Does the engine have dual overhead cams? or does it have a round valve cover that looks like the one in the picture above?

If it's completely stock, there's no way you have a d16a1. D16a6 if your car is an Si. When I got my old EG hatch smogged, they thought my motor was a d15b not a d16z6. I guess it's whatever they have in the computer, not what they see (if they even check).
