Update to earlier topic: Re: difficulties shifting into first and fifth gear, and a whirring/spooli
The dealership is telling me that the whirring noise that I hear when I depress the clutch pedal is normal. While I don't fully believe that, until something well and truly fails, at least I am on record complaining about it.
As for the shifting difficulty, they were unable to replicate it, and therefore are unwilling to open the sucker up and take a look. So for now, I'm picking the car back up and calling it fair. Hopefully we can get enough people complaining about this to open up a service bulliten and get it fixed.
Zygspeed: If your clutch rework solved the problem, let me know. R1020: Same thing. If we can get enough people complaining, maybe we can get Honda to look into it. But without convincing the dealership to crack open my tranny under warranty, I can't convince them there is a problem just yet.

Just two days in a rental '01 Integra LS have me right back to appreciating my R again.

I posted recently about a very similar problem. My car is 6 weeks old, and twice it has locked me out of every gear. And I too heard a "whirring" sound when trying to engage a gear before I had to force it into 2nd. The dealer, after two trips, said that if it does it again they'll replace the clutch slave cylinder. I think they should replace the whole damn tranny myslef.
They gave me an smelly filthy LS to drive too, and man was I glad to get my baby back! I'll definitely check back to see what happens with your car. Hopefully mine won't act up again. Hopefully.
