Default OT: My new project car.

Look out R. It is a '72 Tii with almost zero rust.

Nice.

Andrew, on a completely ON topic related note...how much does your R weigh now that you've stripped it (since it was a discussion today).

Nice. Ti's can be pretty quick at auto-x's when they're tuned and driven right. Have fun. They're cool little cars.

Nice find.... any rust?

Will you preform the GDM conversion and make it look like one of the "original turbo" beasts?

Sorry for the big picture...

Willis

{edit} had to rephrase my question

YD,

Without me in the car, it weighs approximately 2285lbs. It tipped the scales at a little over 2300 with 3/4 tank of gas -- I only run 1/2 or less at the track, so that is where I get the approximation from

BTW, I am referring to the R, NOT the 2002.

wow, that's light considering j00 got that cage in there. When EP had his car cornerweighed it was 2607. That's w/ 160lb driver and full tank of gas and no back seats.

yoshi- who goes to strip his car

Yeah what he said + I think you should keep it OEM original.

F1? u trying to tell me that the Modena is automaticstickwannabe?

-Kamil, who thinks all real sports cars should come with three pedals and H shaped shift pattern. Call me old fashioned.

Kamil,

Actually, no, it is not an autostickwannabe -- or what ever the hell you said. It is a sequential gearbox, you know, what Formula 1, BTCC, and other high-end forms of motorsport use?

F1 paddle shifts blow. Even if they are super-fast like real F1 shifters, they have no clutch and no stick and therefore take little or no skill to operate. In the media coverage of the Modena, you never hear about anything except the paddle shifter...one would think that's all they sold.

Ross,

Wow, nice to see all the comments about a car you have probably never driven. Having driven this 360 F1 at Willow Springs, I can say that it is amazing. But you're right, they take little or no skill to operate, just like those bone-headed F1 drivers, right?

Actually, the Modena F1 DOES have a clutch. It is automatically actuated based on the throttle. There is also a warning light that illuminates when the clutch is getting too hot -- this has only happened once while we were driving in traffic for an extended period of time.

BTW, why don't you take that Ferrari logo off? tool...
