Brake Problem...any advice?
Hi, as my car is about to come to a stop, I hear this slow grinding noise coming from the front of the car...kinda of like a slow grunting noise. I just had my brakes serviced less than 30,000 miles ago, so I doubt that the pads have worn out already. Anyone have any idea what it is?
Brake pads can wear out in less than 30K miles. It could be the pads.
How thick is the pad material? (You can see the edge of the pad material by looking through the spokes of the wheel. If you're not sure how to do this, ask anyone who knows about cars to show you how.)
If it's about 2 mm thick or less, it's time to replace the pads.

ABS pump is a good call . . . i had one go on my '90 audi quattro coupe 2 years ago. the car did have the ability to turn ABS on/off at will (switch on dash), which was VERY slick, but when ABS was on and you came to a stop (RIGHT before you come to a stop, at like ~10mph), the pedal would modulate and there would be that nasty grunting/grinding 'ABS noise'.
bad ABS sensor maybe?

...how to fix...
I've heard good things about the service at Go Acura in Grand Rapids, BTW (I know you don't have an Acura dealer in Lansing).

can check pad thickness looking inside the caliper.

I've heard bad things about them.
(You COULD take it to the local Honda dealer, if they're any good - but I don't know if they could do any warranty work, and they might not have the parts in stock. Same deal with any independent mechanic, preferably one who's good and works on Hondas.)
