I don't really dig the cf hood but to me the white wheels are even worse even if they are TE37s...

PYs are hard to match with wheels, etc.

Does anybody have any pics of a high quality hood, the bottom of the hood or the edges of the hood...some detailed pics? I have seen a couple of hoods around the Corn Capital and I am very dissapointed in how they look The fiber is laid great and the risin(sp?) is smooth and shiney but the edges of the hoods arnt finished and the bottom looks like ***.

Just wondering if this was all CF hoods or just the non-top notch hoods.

Bottom as in underneath side? WHy the heck does the under side of the hood matter?

As for edges mine look fine but are somewhat white from the manufacturing process. If you are getting so picky as to worry about perfect edges a CF hood isn't for you cause they won't ever fit quite like stock anyway.

Well to me the under side of the hood does matter. I am would not pay 500+ for a hood that saves, what 20lbs and doesnt look as good as stock. And from what I gather from your reply nobody makes a hood that would meet this expectations?

young Dragon, most of the OEM style CF hood nowadays that cost in the $500 range are going to be like that. It doesn't save you a ton of weight, but you can use your stock hood latch w/out hoodpins. I think that's why so many people like them. You save *some* weight and no hoodpins.

If you're SERIOUS about racing than you can get the hoodpin style which will probably save you "X" lbs or so.

If you want the top notch quality...you gotta pay for it. One word, Spoon.

I agree AD. It ain`t worth the money if they can`t produce quality AND weight reduction and if they ever do make a high quality cf hood than they will charge over 2k prolly. I would also like to get a cf hood but I won`t pay $1 for something that just sorta fits. I`ll wager that no matter what you spend on a cf hood it won`t be anywhere near stock "quality".

Carbons are for people that don`t care about fit and finish (non-*****).

That reminds me....

Just FYI......
I know the guy who built the motor for the Toda Type R. His name is Steve Taylor. Very, very cool and knows his chit! Actually, I think this is the same car that was in SS last year. He swears by the Toda products!

This car made a believer out of him! I got my JDM front end from him. He imports JDM parts and get u basically anything you want from Japan. If he can't he'll try!

If anyone wants to get in contact with him email me at my addy1

Oh yeah those are Volk GT-N's and they go no smaller than17in.

Carlex - I just made a post in another thread about not really liking the way Carbon Fiber hoods contrast w/ Yellow, but after seeing your pics, which are great quality, I'm starting to reconsider.

I see that Toda R often in my city... You can't really see too well in the picture, but he has red racing seats too... recaros if my memory isn't too poor... he's always at this starbucks next to UCI... the car looks even better in person.

My hood is the gen Fiber Images Hood and I got it from Sam Yau - carbonfiberhood@aol.com He was great to deal with and so has Fiber Images. I had to exchange my first hood due to mold problems and they overnighted to me no questions.
