Ls Rods in D16?
again search does not work
I know it works
Info ive collected so far:
You'll have to resize the small-end bore of the rod by rebushing it for the smaller pin of the Civics engine and lathe the big end bore thickness to Civic specs.
"rebushing" I believe I've read somewhere that i can get these resized bushing from crower....can some one verify this info for me?
"lathe the big end bore thickness to Civic specs" what is the "big end" refering to? and what are the civic specs?
Has anyone actually done this? I would like to hear from people who have done LS in D16 and their experiences...things I can avoid ...things I should do to make it easier.
Is block notching also necessary?
Sorrry for all the questions, normally i would search
Thanks

I put ls pistons in my d16y8 with z6 bottom end, as well as ls rods, My compression is 11:5:1 i KNOW it took a lot of resizing and machining, I paid to get it done, I didn't want to touch that area
Well...the "big end" of the rod is the big end that attatches to the crank. Some D rods are .892 wide and LS rods are .935 wide, shave off .0215 from each side of the LS rod. the block does need to be notched and crowler does have bushings available. I'm planning on doing this when money permits but I haven't heard to much about pricing. Hopefully that other dee-ecks wil respond and tell us what pistons hes using too.

The crower econo billet rods for the D16 are only $398. I think they would be much better than stock LS rods, and there ready to go.
Sometimes it just makes more sense to spend a little more and get something thats made to work, than being able to say "ya I put a type r intake manifold on my LS".
