How many 5th Gen owners have gone to OBD I using a P13 (4th Gen Prelude VTEC) ECU?
Was there any trouble, modification, problems, etc?
Please be specific with as much detail as you can. I'm trying to become very familiar with any issues.
Thanks!

I'd like to search for this topic in the archives, but since they are disabled right now...
I remember reading a thread about ECU's, it seemed a lot of ppl went with reprogrammed GSR ecus. I don't remember what was said about the P13, which afterall is the 4th gen Prelude ECU.
The only thing I have heard about it recently is that it was made with smaller injectors in mind, and that some people have no problems.
I just want as much detail as I can get.

When going from ODB II to ODB I all you have to do is change the ECU and the distributor and you are set.. The difficulty comes where your harness is ODB II and you just have to make some adjustments to the distro wiring and you may have to get a conversion harness on the ECU side for it to plug up..
And that is all..
And that is all..

Why do you need to change the distributor ?

I believe with ODB I the crank angle sensor and some other sensor are held within the housing.. On ODB II cars they are in the timing belt area..
Dont quote me on it though.. hehe

BTW, this is a bit OT, but is there any way to raise the redline and still retain the stock ecu? I want to know because I plan on upgrading my cams somewhere down the line and I dont want to switch the ecu. thanks.
