I need a full set of ITR tranny syncro's for me without the gears. I know the US dealers only sell synchro's with the gears but I have heard that outside of the states dealers can get just the synchros. I need them ASAP.

Should look something like this
Pretty simple job, took us about an hour or so to swap the syncros on the main & counter shaft. We cleaned everything with laquor thinner first, then diped the parts in a MTF bath and put it all back together. Just fyi, it won't shift to smooth dry, once there is fluid in and your drive it a few miles, it will be like brand new

if you are replacing the sycnros, should replace the syncro hub at the same time. Hope thats not the 'gear' you were talking about

Thanks Craig, that is what I ordered.
No, I was referring to the actual Gears themselves

How hard is it to replace synchros????
what kind of special tools will i need?

A gear puller would make the job easier, but it's not necessary (I've never used one).
Not sure if the ITR is the same as the GSR, i'm sure some one knows though.
As for the job, its looks difficult, but it really isn't, just take your time. Getting the case back together is the hardest part I think. We found that if you get the case on and close, then wiggle the shift linkage, it will align the forks and the case "should" drop down into place. Make sure the top retrainer is pushed back and the openings are visable via the access plug. We use 2 flat head screw drivers to open this clip, some people use a special tool (forgot the name). Also when you take the old gears off, simply place them down in the order you take them off so you don't mess it all up and have to figure out how they go on from the helms. We did this once, and it was a bitch getting it all back, but not impossible.
Tools you will need:
- standard metric socket set
- vice is key although we've done it with out one. I bought one saturday before we did the tranny and it was a major time saver
- 3 prong gear puller
- torque wrench
- scraper to scrap off all the old honda bond
Make sure you have honda-bond, as it will be needed to seal the case back together.
Thats about it, just make sure you take your time and don't rush it. Nothing suck more then putting everything back on the car and finding out it does not work and you have to drop the tranny again.

Which part numbers do you need?

It really does seem intimidating the first time you are doing it but after doing mine, I know the tranny inside out.

Yeah, B2, I feel you. I gotta tell you, the tranny looks like a scary piece of hardware. Easy to fck. up..
When dropping the tranny, what parts should be replaced? All bearings, diff, syncros... what else?

Hey, if you could post a complete parts list, or your invoice, that would be wonderful....I need a set of synchros, but a buddy works at he Honda dealership, so all I need is part numbers and voila...I guess I could do the footwork, but if you have them...
I need to do my tranny when I get back to Tampa. Never done it before, so I need the part numbers as well. I know they are in the Helms, but still a little unsure.
How long does the complete job take. From start to finish, including dropping the tranny?
I'm iching to get back to Sebring, but can't until my syncros are replaced.
