Default 1st Impression: Skunk2 ECU Program

Just put the new ECU in the ITR...........Let me say
I got the "Race"? program. Runs alittle fat, but VTEC changeover remains @ 5800, and the limiter is raised to 9500... w00t w00t. I won't run it that high until the valve train goes in next week, but... I did run it to 9 a few times. (And this is 9 according to my shift lite, not the stock tach.... It showed 9200-9300) Overall, My first impressions of it were very good. I noticed a significant gain from 4100-5200 (Where I had a total lack of power before). Also it feels stronger from about 6300 to 8400. I would like to dyno it w/ the stock cams in it, but I'm runnin' out of time (race coming up on the 19th). Overall I am pleased.

well, Ive got Stage 2's in the back seat, so you could say I'm "Runnin'" those But, this week, I'm rollin' stock everything. I Talked to Jonathan, my Skunk2 Rep, and he said that Usually everybody starts w/ the cams, and then go for the ECU for the big differences.... He said that he hasnt had too many people do it in this order.....

I'm gonna' play w/ the fuel on the way home, and maybe I can get it cleaned up alittle.

Cold Starts are AWESOME!!! ****** starts Lopin'..... LOL

I'm a Skunk2 Dealer, and I would sell the program for $250 + core...

I was unaware they had two programs. All of my Literature lists only the one..
I am still trying to dump some fuel out of it.. I'm down to around 35ish psi, and it's still running fairly rich, but not as bad.... It should work a little better w/ the cams installed...

if you feel a gain, you probably LOST power.

i sell same program for like 100 bucks including ecu setup cost

and there are 2 programs to my knowledge

when I say "feel a gain" I mean it feels like it is reving a little smoother, maybe not necessarilly more powerful, but on the OBD2 it was a little "Choppy" for lack of a better word. My car lost most of its power below 5200 when I put on the Mugen 4-1. I know the "Butt-Dyno" cant support Dyno numbers, but like the title says'.. 1st Impression:
I'll definatly post some dyno charts when everything is said and done. But My R evolves a little every year...
