yeah no vtec kicking on.......i checked the wiring...........no leaks.......oil is good..... no check engine lights...........what else could it be the ecu? maybe? can any of you guys give me some opinions on what it would be? thanks

 

VSS, not connected maybe????

 

vtec soleniod bad maybe? clean it out with some break clean or borrow one of your friends soleniods and put it on your car and see if it works then.
Considering that you checked all the other stuff previous listed, mine as well check it again. How about your wiring? No check engine light coming on?

 

if your oil is low vtec won't work(which you already checked) but also check your grounds

yeah i just checked my oil its like at 3/4 right now......and if it was the vtec soloniod wouldnt i throw a code?.......i mean its pretty quick still........but it could be quicker with it coming on.......but thanks for the replies guys that really helped out alot.

Where do you have the wires going into the ecu and what are they going into, for the vtec wire harness?

 

is the car warmed up when you try and hit VTEC?

 

yeah the car is warmed up........and as for the wirng,theharness,its a homemade harness from this guy in my town that does in house wirng harness...... but he swears the wiring is good and the vtec comes on........ and he thinks im hallucinating..... and i dont even feel the power change or the sound.........and when it was working it only kicked on at 7,000...which was pointless. the guy that wired my car is a shady mother fuc*er.

well I would think soo.. I sure as hell wouldn't rely on some home electrician to make me a harness for my precious engine... it's worth a shot.. sounds like you've ruled almost everything else out. I'm definately not saying that it is your harness, but, sure sounds like a trouble spot to me
