type r head??

Default type r head??

alright, how can i identify a USDM type R head. i know there has to be the green paint behind the distributor, but what are other ways (without taking off the valve cover).

The green Paint Just means it is a Replacment Part

It should say PR3 on the front, But b16 heads do also!

gsr says p72 and type r says p30
p30 is also b16
but the type r head has slight port work just to compansate for the bigger valves

Don't post if you don't know what you're talking about.

ITR valves are not bigger.

The head itself is simply rebowled.

Type R doesnt have bigger valves..But there is a rough break down of the intake port casting flash...

Mild porting at best.

You can also tell by popping out 1 of the valve's. I learned this from Cheetah.
The b16 valve has a straight design. Where as the type-r valve has a little notch on the valve. Look at the pic below.

A replacement part? All the ITR heads I've seen have green marking on them near the dizzy area..

Just looked at a py 2000 itr, the head on the right side had PR3-3 markings on it.
