Default B16a2 With a Ls Tranny??

Does anybody have an ls tranny on a b16??? Just want to know if i will be able to stay in VTEC...Please respond..Thanx!

No do not do this. The B16A does not have enough torque for an LS tranny. It will slow you down significantly. Get a B16A tranny or ITR tranny. GSR is alright but the first 2 are preferred.

ANd why would you do that?? Can you explain? If your gonna say cause of the longer gearing then don't bother cause your wrong. Longer gears are NOT BETTER for turbo!!!!

This is not for me...its for a friends....He needs a tranny and he has an ls tranny available for a good price.

Well he has 2 options. Either he can save more and just get a B16A or ITR tranny. Or if it's a reallllllllly good price on the LS he can buy that then sell it for what it's actually worth and make a little profit then get the B16a or ITR. IMHO

i ran a 15.3 in my 92 hatch with b16 and ls tranny. trap speeds were 92s/93s. it wasnt too bad and cruised nice on the freeway.

yeah, switching from ls to b16 made a big difference. but highway cruising sux. so when i blew the diff, i had the shop insatll an ls 5th gear in my b16.

no you will not be able to stay in vtec unless you set vtec @ around 4500-4800rpm and/or shift at higher then 8200rpm red line.
